Our indoor meetings are normally held at the
Quaker Meeting House,
Bean Street, Hull.
We would appreciate it if you let us know if
you plan to attend.
Note - we are no longer social distancing at our meetings
There will also be some meditation evenings on Zoom.
Lay Buddhists of all traditions are welcome to attend. Other people interested in finding out more about meditation and Buddhism are also welcome to attend.
We will alternate meetings between Meditation Mornings and Discussion Mornings. For people who are new to Buddhist meditation there will be a simple guided breathing meditation; veterans may prefer to do their normal meditation practice. At the Discussion Mornings we will have a gentle discussion about the chosen subject as well as our normal meditation.

There is no charge for attending. There will be a begging bowl for donations to cover the cost of the hire of the rooms and other running expenses. Any excess after the costs have been covered will normally be donated to Angulimala - the Buddhist Prison Chaplaincy.
Tea and coffee may be provided and perhaps some biscuits or cake. If you want a different drink please bring it with you. If we share a meal it will be vegetarian food prepared or bought by members of the group. We cannot guarantee that it is free from allergens.
Young people should be accompanied by a responsible adult. We do not usually use incense at our meetings, but may remove our shoes.
There is wheelchair access to the building and a disabled toilet.
Please take care of the things you bring with you, the organisers take no responsibility for anything that is lost.
You are welcome to bring your own meditation cushion (Zafu), bench, mat or rug if you have them. There is plenty of chairs to sit on, but you could bring your own cushion to be more comfortable. We have decided that we wanted the meeting to be accessible to Buddhists of all traditions, so there will be no special ceremonies during our meetings because each Buddhist tradition has different rituals.
