Jazz at the Albemarle

Preview.

Saturday 4th July 2026 at the Albemarle Music Centre in Hull, from noon to 9pm (approximately). Consisting of workshops on performance and jamming skills, performances by local community groups, the opportunity to jam with a house band and a headline act of local jazz musicians. Organised by Sean Miller and Mike Horne.

Facilities – very good acoustics, equipment and a sound engineer. Bar selling beer, wine and hot and soft drinks. Bring your own instruments with you. Food might be available, but there are several cafes, pubs and a large supermarket nearby. There is car parking at St Stephens and the rail and bus interchange is very close.

We will be asking people to obtain tickets in advance and let us know if they want to play in advance to help with the planning. Under 16s will be free but please book. Beginners of all ages welcome.

This is a not for profit event and any donations will be used for funding future Hull and district Jazzy Community projects. There will be raffles and other ways to donate.

What is the Jazzy Community? – anyone living in Hull and the surrounding area who likes listening to or participating in improvised music and tunes from the Jazz repertoires. It is inclusive and intergenerational.

Supported by Albemarle Jazz Camp, CIME, HullJazz, Hull Jazz Festival, Lewis Kilvington and the Hessle Gypsy Jazz Jam, Matt Smith and the Hull Saxophone Collective, the School of Arts and Humanities at the University of Hull and the Avenukes.
