some more details -
Facilities – drum kit that does not need amplification (drummers can bring own
snare drum); piano and keyboard; amplifiers for guitars, bass, keys &c.;
microphones for singers and soloists; basic lighting system; PA; music stands.
We need a quick turnaround between bands.
Bring your own instruments, pedals
and cables. There are no lockers available for storage but the “community bands”
can have a lockable room for some security.
Aims – to bring together jazz fans
and musicians in the area. There are different groups of musicians and audiences
in the area who might form separate communities. There are probably jazz
enthusiasts of all ages and abilities who would like the opportunity to make
music together, so beginners are very welcome to join in. To try to prove that
Jazz is fun and not “difficult” or elitist. We wish to foster an appreciation of
local talent. To encourage future collaborations.
What is the Jazzy Community? –
anyone who likes to listen to
Jazz; anyone who likes to sing or improvise

American Songbook” or by Jazz musicians.
What is the Hull Area? – Hull, Beverley, villages around Hull, south Holderness,
southern parts of the Vale of York and Yorkshire Wolds, close parts of north
Lincolnshire (such as Barton).
