The Orkney Clouston-Mowat-Horne Family Link

The information about the Clouston Lineage back to the Earl of Orkney is taken from the website of James D Clouston. "Thofinn the Mighty" built the castle at the Brough of Birsay around 1000 CE , in Orkney, and made that his capital. The fact that George Horne moved to Orkney to teach at Birsay is just coincidental. The Horne family lineage I have traced so far comes from Caithness. The Orcadian lineage if through the Mowat and Clouston families.
