Mike Horne's New Web Pages
(started in 2016)
News
(updated 22nd July 2016)
EE are going to discontinue the free hosting of my Freeserve Website. I started to write the web pages in 1998. I will be moving Introduction to Buddhism and Study Skill for Dyslexics course notes to this site. The Hull Geological Society has generously agreed to host my Geology Course lecture notes. Other personal web pages such my family history research will be moved to this website. You have my permission to download and save any of the pages published on the freeserve website. I thank Freeserve/Wanadoo/Orange and EE for providing free webhosting for myself and countless others in a less commercial age.
To celebrate my birthday this year I sponsored three events -
a lecture about dinosaurs by Dean Lomax for the Hull Geological Society - Saturday 20th February
an evening with the
Kate
Peters Quartet at the
Hull
Jazz Club
- Wednesday 2nd March. Kate will be playing songs from the “Great
American Songbook” and some toe-tapping soul. You may feel the urge to
dance. Featuring Kate Peters on vocals, John Marley on Bass, Tim Carter
on drums and Martin Longhawn on piano.
the Buddhist Wesak Celebration in Hull
I have been busy digitizing papers from the Transactions of the Hull Geological Society for the HGS website.
These pages were started because I had to change Internet Service Provider
when Orange stopped their Freeserve Dial Up service in 2015. For a time I
was able to update the Freeserve Website (http://www.horne28.freeserve.co.uk).
You can still view those pages, but please be aware that I am not able to
correct them. I will leave the course notes for my Geology and Buddhism
there; though the site might not be there for ever!.
