Please do not send me unsolicited photographs* or files: e-mails with attachments will be deleted and reported as SPAM. If you wish to send me such items then e-mail me first and wait for my reply.
Similarly I do not send attachments out with e-mails without warning people first - so if you receive an unexpected attachment with an e-mail from me please delete it.
If you want to send me pictures* of fossils and rocks, please include some further information such as size (or better still include a scale on your picture), where you found it, type of rock the fossil was in, &c. *
If you do e-mail with questions or requests then please clearly state what the topic is (rather than "please tell me more") because my web sites cover several topics. Also it helps me when replying if you tell me why you want to know (general interest, school or college essay, personal, research, &c) - so that my reply is appropriate to your needs. I will try to answer your questions, but some may be beyond my expertise and experience. Some questions and replies may be used on my FAQ (frequently asked questions) pages in the future.
If you wish to comment on or have a correction for my web pages (such as changing a link or contact details of another group) - please tell me which page or pages the error is on, rather than just say "please change the address of ..."!
Please note that sometimes I may not be able reply to you if you use AOL or Hotmail
Confidentiality - Please note I treat your e-mail address as confidential information and will not knowingly reveal it to others without your permission. If you 'phone me with an query I do not keep a record of your 'phone number or address unless you ask me to.
* Please note - if you send me pictures or comments I will assume that you are giving me permission to show them to others or publish them, with due acknowledgment of your copyright, unless you tell me otherwise.
