The Holderness

Mountain Rescue Service

Great caution should be exercised when climbing the

"Three Peaks of Holderness"

Kelsey Hill (over 1500 cm), Beacon Hill (2600 cm) and Dimlington High Land (over 3000 cm) !

If you are attempting to climb these peaks by yourself always inform someone where you are going and what time you expect to be back. Wear the right clothing for the weather conditions and have the correct climbing equipment. Be aware that mists can develop suddenly considerably reducing visibility on the peaks. And remember that if you should fall it is the sudden deceleration at the bottom that hurts!

This is what Google A I Overview says about the Service (on 21st July 2026) :

"The Holderness Mountain Rescue Team is a volunteer led group associated with the University of Hull and the broader East Yorkshire community. Whilst the region is relatively flat compared to traditional mountain ranges, the team operates as a crucial search and rescue team, frequently assisting in local emergencies in Yorkshire and the Humber Region. They are often called upon to aid with missing person searches... severe weather and floods... coastal and mud rescues... Like most teams in the UK the Holderness Mountain Rescue Team is a registered charity and relies entirely on volunteers and public donations to fund their training, vehicles and life-saving gear."
